Solidarity letter to BSO on its 23rd National Convention from Kurdistan by Internationalist Commune of Rojava

Dear comrades,

With a lot of care and excitement, we are following the struggle in all parts of Balochistan, and it is an honor for us to build a basis for a common struggle together. In our region as well as in the whole world, we face an episode of war and chaos. A chaos that offers big dangers as well as great opportunities to the struggling people and revolutionary forces.

The imperial powers are in the middle of a new offensive they launched to divide land, resources, and reign over the people among themselves. They don’t hesitate to sacrifice whole societies and cultures to build new routes of transport, trade, and energy and use local autocratic states or mercenaries that misuse the name of religion, such as Al-Qaida or DAESH, to take down the resistance of the people. Both Kurdistan and Balochistan find themselves in such a situation. As the Turkish fascist state wants to commit genocide of the Kurdish people to establish a new Ottoman empire, Pakistan tries to eliminate all Baloch people that defend their existence and culture, to sell their land to Western and Chinese investors and tries to overcome its own economic and political crisis.

As we witness every day how dead bodies of Baloch activists are being discovered and the brave women who raise their voices against this genocide being attacked by the state’s police, the same way we see airstrikes and assassinations against revolutionaries and civilians in Kurdistan, thousands of people in Turkish prisons and a dehumanizing isolation against the Kurdish leader figure Abdullah Ocalan lasting 25 years until now.

The attacks and massacres we face in our regions might look like local problems to some, but it is clear that they are part of a global system of imperialism and capitalism. As the war that is waged on the people of our regions has the same root, also our struggle and search for a different system must be one.The struggle for freedom in Balochistan and Kurdistan looks back to a long history and is full of experience, sacrifices, and heritages. Our struggle is the reason why the people of our regions even after decades of assimilation, war, and genocide are still resisting, keeping their heads up, and demanding freedom for themselves and their land. They do so without falling for the traps of religious and ethnic hate, without allowing other forces to use them for their own interests. On the contrary, they struggle to live in peace and equality with all people and all kinds of religions and beliefs in the region. The Kurdish and Baloch women who are fighting in the forefront are proving that the Women’s Revolution is going to shape the future of the region, and that freedom of women is nothing that comes with Western liberalism but only through our own struggle.

Here in Rojava, we see that it is possible to create a different kind of system beyond nation-states and ethnic divisions, that we are able to organize ourselves and our societies according to their needs and their identities. The idea of Democratic Confederalism shows a concrete concept of how a plural society can organize itself democratically. We also see that it is worth to fight and also sacrifice for such a new system. The lie that the oppressed people will never be able to gain their freedom without making themselves dependent on other forces has been proven wrong.

In the times of big danger and great opportunities for the struggling people and revolutionary forces,we see your congress as an important and historic step for the strengthening of the struggle in Balochistan and therefore the whole region. We are convinced that meaningful steps for organizing, educating, and struggling even stronger will be made. We are sure that your congress will not only be meaningful for the organization but also for all Baloch youth, women, and people and their struggle. The struggle that we are leading today would never exist without those that fought before us and that showed us how we should live and fight to be able to create a new world of peace and equality. For this, we want to remember two great revolutionaries, that are and will ever be a source of hope and inspiration. Karima Baloch, who has struggled from her youth against occupation and oppression, was a vanguard of the student movement and an example of a fighting woman, paving the way for the women’s revolution we witness in the Middle East and beyond. In a cowardly action, she was murdered by the Pakistani secret service in 2020 in Canada. Also, we want to remember Bisheng Brusk, a revolutionary that struggled in all 4 parts of Kurdistan as a vanguard of the Kurdish youth movement and embodied a personality of a free woman. She educated and organized hundreds of youth to play their role in the revolution. Her life was taken by a Turkish attack in 2023.Those comrades live on in our struggle and with their remembrance, and as we learn from their lives we will be able to make their dreams of freedom come true.Revolutionary greetings,

Internationalist Commune of Rojava
